Description
A topiary favorite, this highly ornamental plant is very suitable for formal gardens and flanking entrance ways.  Sometimes called "Australian brush-cherry, it is a vigorous evergreen, compact shrub to 20 feet high with vivid red leaves when young, later changing to shining green.  Fluffy white fiber-optic looking flowers followed by red berries are produced.  An excellent tall narrow patio plant.
Care and Handling
On patios, full sunlight is favored, however they may be used indoors with strong filtered light.  In bright light water more frequently just before tips wilt.  Normal indoor temperatures are adequate. Will not tolerate a freeze and is best above 40 degrees.  Feed monthly in spring and summer and  bi-monthly in winter.  If plant looses it glossy appearance or begins to wilt, increase watering.
