Description
Usually grown as a potted plant for displaying, this columnar Euphorbia develops some interesting shapes with its spiraling stem patterns. Plants grow more in a column than other Euphorbias. Mature plants will have leaves on the upper limbs, but not just on the growing tips. While not a prolific branching plant, it will produce some branches about 1 1/2" to 2" with the main stem double that diameter.
Care and Handling
Light shade is preferred, but it will grow in bright locations or full sun. Can tolerate about as low as 30 degrees, but prefers a minimum average temperature of about 60 degrees. Soil should be a well draining type including some sand. Use moderate amounts of water and allow to dry out between waterings. Do not overwater. Some people are allergic to the latex sap of euphorbias.
