One of the finest succulents available, it is often called a "century plant".  It has thick massive gray blue leaves originating from a basal rosette.  The leaves can get up to 6 feet long and 10" wide with sharp spines on the margins and tips.  A popular cultivar is the 'Marginata' with yellow margins on the leaves.  A very showy agave, but it doesn't take a century to bloom.

A tropical agave with pale green pliable leaves in a rosette from a tight central spear looking like a large green flower.  This agave has no end spines and can develop a stout curving stem that can grow to 4 to 5 feet tall.

AGAVE GEMINIFLORA 'RASTA MAN'

A symmetrical single dense agave with rosettes of dark green narrow leaves with small white threads along the leaves, without end spines that can reach a size of about 3' by 3'.  Gets its nickname "Twin Flower Agave" from the fact that there are two flowers at each bract along the bloom spike.  Can be grown in full sun or light shade and is best as a container plant with very low maintenance.

Aloes are succulents whose leaves grow in a rosette pattern and most on short stems.  They are easy to grow in full sun to partial shade.  Pretty bloom spikes with orange or yellow flowers appear in spring or summer.  Only Aloe Vera's gel-like sap has been shown to help heal burns.  Other Aloes' sap should not be used on the skin.
